Our partner and co-organiser Vangavis is thrilled to announce the launch of the Circular DigiBuild (CDB) project, an ambitious initiative aimed at transforming the construction industry in the Danube region through the integration of digital innovations and circular economy principles. This groundbreaking project seeks to tackle the region’s pressing environmental challenges, including resource depletion, waste generation, and greenhouse gas emissions. It is funded by the INTERREG Danube Region Programme, which supports transnational cooperation for a more sustainable future.
Pioneering Circular Innovation in Construction The Circular DigiBuild project is strategically positioned at the intersection of digitalization and the circular economy (CE). By harnessing emerging technologies like big data, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT), the project promotes sustainable construction practices. These innovations are essential for shifting from the traditional “take, make, dispose” approach to a circular model, where materials are reused, minimizing the environmental impact of the construction sector.
This initiative aligns with the EU’s broader goals for digital transformation, as outlined in ‘Europe’s Digital Decade.’ It underscores the potential of digital technologies to drive cleaner and more sustainable construction processes within the framework of the circular economy.
Building a Sustainable Future Together The Circular DigiBuild project marks a major step forward in advancing sustainable, digital, and circular practices within the construction industry. In collaboration with partners across the Danube region, including research institutions, business agencies, universities, and local governments, the project aims to create a thriving innovation ecosystem that fosters green growth and regional cooperation.
Vangavis is dedicated to supporting this transition by uniting various stakeholders to address the urgent challenges of climate change and resource management in the construction sector.
